A Steak Served with Wine Sauce and Potato Gratin

Nothing will satisfy the appetite of your fiancée than a steak dinner. So, what ingredients will you need to prepare this delicious dinner?

Five ounces of soft goat cheese that are crumbled

Butter

Ground pepper and coarse salt

One tablespoon of Dijon mustard

4 top blade steaks (six to eight ounces each, one-inch thick)

One minced garlic clove

About three baking potatoes

One cup of dry white wine

One and a half cups of heavy cream

Two tablespoons of drained capers

Directions

Start by preheating your oven to about 3700 C. Butter an eight-inch baking bowl; set it aside and then combine the cream, garlic, and goat cheese in a large saucepan; season the mixture with small amounts of pepper and salt.

Peel your potatoes and slice to about 1/8-inch thick and add it to the cream mixture as you proceed. Cook for about 25 minutes until your potatoes become crisp-tender.

Transfer your mixture to the prepared baking dish and press the potatoes into the cream using a spatula. Place your dish on a rimmed and well-balanced baking sheet and bake it for about 25 minutes until the potatoes become tender.

Heat an appropriate skillet over medium-high at least 15 minutes before your potatoes finish baking. Season both sides of your steak with sodium pepper and salt and continue cooking for six minutes each side. Be sure to reduce your heat if it’s browning too fast. Transfer it to a plate and cover it with an aluminum foil.

To make your wine sauce, add some wine to skillet and boil over medium heat until it becomes syrupy. Whisk in the mustard. Stir in any juices and capers from your steak and season it with pepper and salt. Serve the steaks with potato gratin and wine sauce.
